International Cooperation Focused on CIS and Central Asian Countries
Kyungwoon University is gearing up its international cooperation efforts, primarily aimed at leveraging foreign talent from countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the international organization of former Soviet Republics, and Central Asia.
On the first of the month, Kyungwoon University formalized a collaboration agreement with the National University of Medicine in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This agreement is designed to foster excellence in healthcare personnel training and to promote industry-academia collaboration, with the establishment of an industry-academia collaboration center in Tashkent as a pivotal part of the pact.
This collaborative engagement will see Kyungwoon University actively involved in the education and training of healthcare personnel in a 2+2 education model with the National University of Medicine in Tashkent. Additionally, through the local industry-academia collaboration center, Kyungwoon plans to pave the way for corporate expansion, industry-academia exchange with local businesses, and the global educational activities of its students.

In alignment with these plans, Kyungwoon University met with the Mayor of Saryyew, Nurabad district, Tashkent region, and pledged to jointly pursue regional development projects and construct a collaborative framework.
Kyungwoon University has been committed to developing a model for industry-academia collaboration suitable for developing countries for over 15 years. It has been operational in low-development Asian countries such as Vietnam, the Philippines, and Mongolia, setting up industry-academia collaboration centers to conduct activities such as local student industry-academia collaboration education, corporate support, and support for local business expansion.
Additionally, it has established Sejong Institutes, Korean language education institutions under the Ministry of Culture, in Vietnam, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. These institutes have actively provided local students with Korean language and settlement education.
Kyungwoon University's Vice President (Head of the University Innovation Center), Dr. Moon Choo-Yeon, stated, "We are intensifying our role as a regional support hub targeting the Commonwealth of Independent States, which has high growth potential and significant demand for Korean expansion. Furthermore, we consider Asia as a regional community and are devising mutual growth strategies. Ultimately, we aim to play a role in regional development."
