Program overview

SDP Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Safety & Disaster Prevention (SDP) at Kyungwoon University (KWU) focuses on cultivating specialists in the realm of social safety, a role that has garnered increased attention in the aftermath of Covid-19. Our mission is to educate and train professionals who can promptly and effectively manage significant social incidents or natural disasters such as pandemics, earthquakes, and typhoons.

Our SDP department offers students the unique opportunity to simulate real-world scenarios where various government agencies — including fire departments, hospitals, military, police, and administrative bodies — need to collaborate in response to natural disasters. This hands-on approach equips students with a practical understanding of how these entities must work together in crisis situations.

Furthermore, we recognize that learning should be engaging as well as instructive. As such, our SDP program transforms potentially monotonous content into immersive experiences using a simulation game. This gamification approach allows students to enjoy their learning experience while simultaneously engaging in practical training to address social challenges.

Our SDP program features esteemed professors who excel in educating students on identifying and mitigating risks within various societal contexts, using state-of-the-art equipment. By joining us at KWU's SDP program, you'll be stepping into an immersive learning environment that not only equips you with critical skills but also prepares you to make a significant impact in safeguarding our society.
